Juanita J. Simeral, 85, of South Charleston passed away on July 31, 2017 at home following a short illness.
She was born in Ronda, WV to the late Albert and Virginia Cooper. She returned to South Charleston approximately 3 years ago after spending the previous 30 plus years in St. Petersburg, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her first husband, Clarence M. Berner and her second husband, John E. (Jack) Simeral.
Juanita is survived by her brother, Dannie Cooper; three children; Jim Berner, Jane Martin and Bob Berner; three grandchildren, Craig Berner, Stacey Wyatt and Christopher Vance; six great grandchildren, Tanner Wyatt, Brett Berner, Austin Wyatt, Leah Berner, Madison Vance and Mackenzie Vance; step-daughter, Sue Beth Simeral Craddock, husband, John D. Craddock of Charleston; step-granddaughter, Kami L. Wiles, husband, Paul Wiles, of Poca; step-grandson, John M. Dolin, wife, Courtney of Hurricane; five precious step-great grandchildren, whom Mama Juanita never forgot to send money filled birthday cards to, our angel, Christian (deceased), Griffin, Charlee, Logan and Nikolas; Momma will also be sadly missed by her rescue kitty, Baby Sue.
The family would also like to acknowledge Ruth Holbrook and Linda Thaxton, friends of Juanita's who have been instrumental in her care since her illness.
A Memorial Service to honor the life of Juanita Simeral will be held at 7:00 PM, on Friday, August 11, 2017, at St. John United Methodist Church in Scott Depot with Rev. Michael Atkinson officiating. Family and Friends may visit from 5:00 to 7:00 pm prior to the service at the church. A family graveside service was held at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 in memory of Juanita.
